Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that the state will have enough resources to purchase vaccines against COVID-19.
The head of government announced this on his Facebook page.
"Ukraine will have enough resources to purchase vaccines against COVID-19. The Government and the Office of the President are actively working so that in 2021, Ukraine is guaranteed to have a significantly larger amount of vaccines, in addition to the planned 8 million doses as part of the global COVAX initiative," he noted in the message.
Shmygal also added that: "Almost UAH 3 billion for these purposes has already been laid down in the 2021 state budget. In addition, a special fund will be created, which will accumulate funds for vaccines and additional payments to doctors. In addition, this year the Government allocated UAH 1,3 billion for the Ministry of Health for vaccines. This decision was approved by the Budget Committee of the Verkhovna Rada."
