The American company Moderna reported that its vaccine against the coronavirus was effective in 94,1% of cases in the initial analysis, and in 100% in the case of a severe form of the disease. About this says the company's message.
In total, more than 30 thousand people participated in the tests. Of these, 19 people contracted COVID-196 — 185 volunteers who received a placebo and 11 people who received the vaccine. In this case, the company concludes, the effectiveness of the vaccine was 94,1%.
Among the test participants, 30 people fell ill with a severe form of COVID-19 — these are people who received a placebo instead of the vaccine. Of those who received the vaccine, no one was seriously ill, which indicates the 100 percent effectiveness of the vaccine in such cases.
Now the company is submitting documents for the registration of the vaccine in the USA.
