Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said that his department was in favor of strengthening the quarantine in Ukraine over the weekend. It is assumed that only grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations will work.
He said this on November 9 during a briefing broadcast on Facebook.
"We decided to strengthen our quarantine restrictions. Realizing that, apart from Covid-19, we still have not very good things to do with the economy, we understand that there will be no complete lockdown. We will offer a strict weekend quarantine. What this means is that only grocery stores, pharmacies, transport, gas stations, and veterinary pharmacies should be open on Saturdays and Sundays in our country. All others — restaurants, cafes, and others — are only for take-out. Other stores, shopping centers - we recommend that they close for the weekend," he said.
In addition, the official said that the isolation will be allowed to end on the weekend under the following conditions:
— absence of acute respiratory disease for three days, starting from the 10th day from the date of onset of symptoms;
— the absence of clinically manifested acute respiratory infections within three days from the date of taking the tests;
— the absence of clinically manifested acute respiratory infections, provided that the result of the PCR test is negative.
