The European Union has approved Ukrainian digital COVID-certificates at the technical level. The political part of mutual recognition is now expected.
This was reported by Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Alexey Vyskuba.
"Digital COVID-certificates at Diya passed a successful technical assessment by the EU!" he wrote.
According to him, such a decision became the decisive stage of "mutual recognition of digital certificates for travel".
"It was a really difficult and very complex exam, especially in terms of the implementation of a qualified electronic signature and offline/online verification of documents," Vyskub noted.
Now Ukrainian certificates must be recognized by the European Commission. After that, a memorandum will be signed that will allow Ukrainians to travel with certificates to EU countries.
"Soon, Ukrainians will be able to return to their usual "do-over" life with trips and business meetings with foreign partners," promised Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Tsifry Mikhail Fedorov.
