Ukraine has signed an agreement with the Pfizer company on the main conditions for the purchase of new tablets against the coronavirus "Pakslovid". This is a drug for outpatient treatment and is effective in the first days of the disease. This was reported by the Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.
According to him, they have contracted to purchase 300 courses of medicine.
"The use of these drugs will prevent complications, hospitalizations and deaths of patients with COVID-19 from risk groups. In November 2021, the manufacturer of these drugs, Pfizer, announced the results of clinical studies. "When Paxlovid is prescribed within three days after the onset of symptoms of COVID, hospitalizations or deaths are reduced by 89% and by 85% if treatment is started within five days," the minister said.
