The City Hall intends to close the pedestrian zone operating in the historic center of Odessa on weekends and holidays. Officials will consider the relevant draft decision on December 23 at the executive committee of the city council.
The document notes that the pedestrian zone will be closed until March 4 due to worsening weather conditions.
However, one of the initiators of the creation of a pedestrian zone, the head of the transport commission of the city council, Petr Obukhov, opposes this, noting that it is precisely during the New Year holidays that thousands of Odessa residents gather in the city center, and it would be right to ensure their comfort.
We remind you that the pedestrian zone in the historical center began to operate on weekends and holidays from June 4.
