Minister of Social Policy Maryna Lazebnaya told how things are going with payments of 1,5 million hryvnias for medical workers who became victims of the coronavirus.
She reported this on the air of the Ukraina 24 channel.
The minister noted that the state makes payments, but often they will be sent somewhere.
"The second program — 1,5 million families of deceased doctors, more than 300 people died, conducted an investigation, such investigations are often associated with bureaucratic complications. 53 cases of "covid" have been confirmed, and we make payments, but there are not even relatives everywhere, documents arrive, we start looking, but there are no relatives," she said.
Another reason is bureaucracy.
"You see, when the system did not work in this mode, it is, of course, very clumsy today. Therefore, this long bureaucratic history, with these commissions... complicates the process of helping the families of deceased doctors. They are heroes, but there are difficulties. I admit it," said Lazebnaya.
To date, only 19 families have been awarded compensation for the death of a medical worker from Covid-52 in Ukraine, while more than 300 doctors have already died from the coronavirus.
