The first cargo train from China reached Odessa in 22 days, covering almost 8,5 thousand km.
The container train arrived at the "Chernomorskaya" station from Guangzhou, China, the press service of "Ukrzaliznytsia" reported.
The train delivered 50 containers of bulk cargo with furniture, electronics and other goods to Odessa.
Containers from China are delivered via this route for the first time. It is planned that the train will run between cities once a month. Such communication significantly reduces logistics costs for enterprises, because the road takes almost twice as much time as shipping by sea.
"Transport communication between the East and the West has always been and is an important system of economic activity in all countries. "Ukrzalinytsia" actively participates in the development of such communication and is developing new routes for the delivery of goods on the China-Europe route, because the transit opportunities of our country have a powerful potential for growth," the department reports.
It should be noted that container trains from China to Ukraine began to run in June 2020. In an hour, 13 such trains arrived in Ukraine and 67 transited.
The project was initiated by the Ukrainian logistics company Uni-Laman Group together with a representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine in Guangdong province.
