The Security Service of Ukraine sent a letter to the Cabinet of Ministers, in which it warned about the threat of stopping the heat and electricity supply to the population due to the shortage of coal.
The department claims that due to the lack of coal there is a threat of stopping the heat and electricity supply to the population. So now there are 486,2 thousand tons of fuel in Ukrainian warehouses, although according to the plan it should be 5 times more (2 million tons).
This can lead to an uncontrolled increase in tariffs for electricity and heat.
"Problems with heat supply can lead to the emergence of man-made emergency situations, the growth of social tension among the population and the discrediting of the authorities," the letter says.
Slavyanskaya and Luhansk thermal power stations, as well as Chernihiv and Darnytskyi thermal power stations, were classified as TPPs and CHPs that have critical indicators in the SBU.
