A meeting was held in the President's Office to discuss the issue of lowering gas tariffs for the population.
This was reported in the press service of the OF.
"Gas tariffs for the population must be fair. The price of gas is rising on the market due to weather conditions and other reasons that have occurred in Europe, and we cannot allow prices to rise for our citizens," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
At the meeting, it was announced that the Cabinet of Ministers is preparing systemic solutions for balancing the energy market.
Acting Minister of Energy Yury Vytrenko presented a preliminary plan to significantly reduce gas tariffs and establish a price that would be fair from the point of view of the consumer.
Note that in the last few days, a wave of rallies took place across Ukraine: Ukrainians demanded lower gas tariffs. The new tariffs entered into force on January 1, 2021.
