Officials are officially prohibited from going abroad on vacation or for other non-governmental purposes. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi in his evening video address on Monday, January 23.
According to him, he passed the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the departure of officials abroad. It applies to all officials of the central government, various other levels of local government, as well as law enforcement officers, people's elected officials, prosecutors and all those who have to work for the state and in the state.
"If they want to rest now, they will rest outside the state service. Officials will no longer be able to go abroad for vacation or for some other non-state purpose," the president emphasized.
Who will be prohibited from traveling abroad without official purposes, according to with a decree President:
- ministers and their deputies,
- People's Deputies,
- heads of central executive bodies and their deputies,
- the head of the Office of the President and his deputies, heads of other services created by the President,
- the head of the SBU and his deputies,
- all members of the National TV Council, the National Bank, the Central Election Commission and the Accounting Chamber,
- the secretary of the National Security Council and his deputies,
- heads of other state collegial bodies,
- ombudsman and his representatives,
- the heads of all state administrations and their deputies, the deputy representative of the president in Crimea and his deputies,
- heads of all other state bodies and their deputies,
- heads of all local authorities,
- Supreme Court judges and other judges,
- prosecutors,
- heads of structural subdivisions of state bodies and all those who have armor against mobilization.
In addition, the Security Service of Ukraine is tasked with checking the legality of decisions of all authorities regarding the departure of citizens abroad.
