Almost 1000 fines per day: the first day of "phantoms" work was quite successful

New patrols suddenly record speeding by drivers.

On January 25, new "phantom" patrols left for patrolling. At the moment, it is a Skoda Kodiaq, without police identification marks, but in the future the brand of the car will not be revealed, it contradicts the idea.

In contrast to stationary speeding cameras, the task of "phantoms" is suddenly to record speeding by drivers and issue fines to car owners as quickly as possible.

As the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Anton Gerashchenko, said, the first day of operation of phantom cars with built-in speed control cameras bore fruit. 990 admin protocols only in Kyiv.

"The task of Fantomov is not to collect money into the treasury, but to make the roads of Ukraine safer... In addition to stationary speed control cameras, Fantom is now developing a bill on measuring the average speed of a vehicle on certain sections of highways.
Thus, the driver will know that it is impossible to exceed the speed limit on this stretch and expose yourself and other road users to danger. Well, friends, be polite on the roads. After all, "Phantom" can appear anywhere," Gerashchenko pointed out.

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs also gave an example of such a decision.

Also, the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs reported that in 2022 it is planned to purchase 30 more "Phantom" cars, and in 2023 - 50 more, which will be enough to create conditions for sudden speed control in the stream, along with the use of semi-automatic "TgieSam" cameras.

Let's remind you, on Ukrainian roads появились invisible police patrols.
