Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, who is responsible for foreign policy, announced during his speech at the Munich Security Conference that by the end of February, Beijing will present a plan of its vision for the political settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

"China will present a document outlining its position on the political settlement of the Ukrainian issue. In the position paper, we will repeat the proposals made by the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, including the necessity to respect territorial integrity and sovereignty, to adhere to the purpose and principles of the UN Charter, on the need to take legitimate security concerns seriously and to support all efforts that contribute to a peaceful settlement," said Wang Yi.

According to him, China "firmly stands on the side of peace and dialogue" in the Ukrainian issue. "We are convinced that this crisis situation can be resolved only through peaceful negotiations," Wang Yi noted. At the same time, the Chinese official suggested that some forces do not want peace in Ukraine and their strategic goals extend beyond the borders of this country. He did not specify who exactly he was talking about, but called on "European friends" to "consider everything carefully" and "make efforts for a peaceful solution to the problem."

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg spoke before Wang Yi in Munich, who stated that peace in Ukraine can be achieved by supplying weapons and strengthening the potential of the Ukrainian army. "We support Ukraine to ensure that they win and survive as a sovereign nation. The only way to guarantee a strong and just peace in Ukraine is to provide them with military support," he said.

In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Berbock, welcomed China's intention to present its plan for a peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine, but made territorial concessions to Russia impossible.

"A just peace assumes that the one who violated the territorial integrity, namely Russia, withdraws its troops from the occupied country," Burbok emphasized. "World peace is based precisely on the fact that we all recognize the territorial integrity and sovereignty of each country. Germany's position is that without the withdrawal of all Russian troops from Ukraine, there is no chance of ending the war," the head of the German Foreign Ministry emphasized.
