Zelensky in the Netherlands: Putin deserves the sentence of the International Criminal Court

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the International Criminal Court in The Hague. In a conversation with the head of the Ukrainian state, the head of the International Court of Justice Petro Hofmanskyi thanked Kyiv for cooperation with the court and, in particular, for the recent agreement that allows the creation of a representative office of the International Court of Justice in Ukraine.

Ukraine is not a state party to the Rome Statute, but has twice used its prerogative to recognize the court's jurisdiction over crimes committed on its territory, The Hague noted.

Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi that Amsterdam will continue to support Kyiv "primarily with weapons."

"The harsh reality is that there is no substitute for success on the battlefield," Hoekstra explained. "We will do everything in our power to bring Russia to justice," the kingdom's foreign minister added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin deserves a verdict from the International Criminal Court, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said during a speech in The Hague, where the International Criminal Court is sitting.

"We all want to see another Volodymyr here," said the Ukrainian head of state at the World Forum Conference Center after visiting the ISS. "And I'm sure we'll see how that happens when we win," he emphasized.

“If you look at any war of aggression in history, they all have one thing in common. The perpetrators of the war did not believe that they would have to answer for what they did," added the Ukrainian leader.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, during his speech in the Parliament of the Netherlands, thanked the kingdom for its support of Ukraine and for the "unity of Europe". The Ukrainian head of state called The Hague, where the International Criminal Court sits, "the heart of international justice."

"Justice on behalf of all people who suffered from aggression and international crimes. And this year is the year of our preparation with you," the Dutch publication De Telegraaf quotes the Ukrainian leader as saying.

At the same time, Zelensky called to provide Ukraine with more modern weapons. "The more powerful the weapon and the longer its range, the more lives can be saved from daily shelling," explained the President of Ukraine.
