Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, August 11, announced the creation of the world's first coronavirus vaccine. He said this while opening a meeting with members of the government, our correspondent writes with reference to TASS.
"As far as I know, this morning, for the first time in the world, a vaccine against the new coronavirus infection was registered," said the President of the Russian Federation.
According to him, the mass release of the vaccine against the coronavirus will begin in the near future, and he is confident that other countries will join in the development.
The Russian president also said that one of his daughters had tested the vaccine.
According to him, after the first injection, his daughter's temperature was 38, and the next day it was 37 with "pennies".
"And that's all. After the second injection, the temperature also rose a little, but then everything went to "no", he feels good," said the guarantor.
Putin also asked the head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, to inform in detail about the clinical effectiveness and post-vaccine symptoms in humans.
"I know that it works effectively enough, forms stable immunity and, I repeat, has passed all the necessary checks," added Putin.
According to Murashko, the vaccine from the coronavirus center named after Gamalea is developed on the well-known platform on which six other vaccines are based. It has shown high efficiency and safety according to the results of clinical studies.
"All volunteers developed high titers of antibodies to COVID-19. At the same time, none of them had serious complications of immunization," Murashko said.
He specified that the first to vaccinate are doctors and teachers.
Let us remind you that in Ukraine, according to the Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov, they do not plan to vaccinate teachers.
