11-year-old gymnast Sofia Teplaya, originally from Podolsk, Odesa Region, entered the Guinness Book of Records.
The athlete showed the best time in the 20-meter relay in the triple gymnastic fold.
According to experts, this is an incredibly difficult gymnastic exercise, when a person bends his body back until his feet touch his head and rolls forward at high speed. Sofia covered the distance in less than 11 seconds and broke the previous record of the Chinese woman, who spent almost three seconds more on it. And already after the distance, Sofiyka received a Guinness Book of Records certificate.
"I am so grateful for the support, I read everything they write to me. I am very glad that I was able to become a world record holder and enter the Guinness Book of Records. I am very happy that I was able to adequately represent my country on the world stage. I dedicate this record to all of Ukraine," said Sofia.
It should be noted that Sofia has been involved in circus arts since she was 3 years old, she got her first successes in the show "Ukraine has talent", but she had nowhere to develop - there was no sports school in Podolsk. Then her mother quit her job and opened a private school that continues to this day.
