Dynamo Kyiv forward Artem Besedin, who is recovering from a terrible injury received in the Euro-2020 match against Sweden, spoke about his attitude towards people with non-traditional orientation and gay parades.
The forward stated that he is categorically against any displayed homosexual relations.
"Do I support gay parades? No, of course. This is not normal. In principle, there should not be people with non-traditional orientation. There are boys and there are girls - that's all," Besedin is convinced.
FARE, which fights against racism and xenophobia in European football, reacted to Besedin's statements.
"We believe that such statements are unacceptable and should have disciplinary consequences. Football cannot be used to promote hatred, the game is built on the values of respect - it doesn't matter what your skin color, religion or sexual orientation is, everyone has an equal place in the game. We would recommend Besedin to take an educational course on diversity — to learn more about the people who surround him, as an educational event along with disciplinary punishment," the organization's statement says.
