The Supreme Anti-corruption Court of Ukraine changed the measure of suppression of the Executive Committee, Vice Mayor of Odesa Oleg Bryndak. Gennady Trukhanov's closest associate was sent to a pre-trial detention center for 2 months.
We note that in the period from November 2013 to June 2014, Bryndak served as the mayor of Odessa.
"The investigative judge granted the prosecutor's request and sent the associate Gennady Trukhanov to the investigative detention center for 60 days - until February 7, 2022," the newspaper writes.
At the same time, it is specified that Bryndak can be released if he posts a bail of 24 million 970 thousand hryvnias (previously it was 40 million hryvnias).
Anti-corruption prosecutors consider Bryndak to be one of the key figures in the so-called "Odessa case" — they suspect that the mayor's office stole and illegally transferred almost 16 hectares of land in Odessa for development. The damage is 689 million hryvnias. The investigation believes that the participants of the group were Odessa mayor Gennady Trukhanov, businessman Vladimir Galanternyk and other high-ranking officials.
