In the Vinnytsia region, two drunken men attacked members of the election commission at night

And they tried to take ballots and election documentation from the head of the commission

In the city of Tulchyn, Vinnytsia region, the police detained two men who attacked members of the election commission on the night of October 26. This was reported to the local police department.

An Audi car pulled up to the members of the commission who were leaving the site. Two men ran out of the car and threatened the chairman and members of the commission with physical violence. The attackers tried to take ballots and electoral documents from the head of the commission, accusing them of falsification and threatening the policeman.

During the conflict, the policeman, who was accompanying the members of the precinct commission, used a point-blank weapon and freed his colleagues. The police crew arrived at the scene within minutes, arrested the attackers and took them to the police department.

The 25- and 29-year-old residents of the village of Nestervarka, Tulchyn district, were arrested. Previously, they did not come into the field of view of law enforcement officers, and at the time of committing the offense they were in a state of alcoholic intoxication.

On this fact, the investigators started two criminal proceedings: under part 3 of article 157 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Prevention of the exercise of electoral rights or the right to participate in a referendum, work of the electoral commission) and part 1 of article 345 (Threat or violence against an employee of a law enforcement agency) ). Such offenses are punishable by up to seven years of imprisonment.
