The Security Service of Ukraine told why it was conducted searches in the house of the former head of the Odesa Regional Council, Sergei Parashchenko.
The corresponding message was published by the press service of the SBU in the Odesa region.
So, operatives of the special service said that they exposed a corruption scheme organized by the former leadership of the Odesa Regional Council and directors of a number of state-owned enterprises, from the illegal use of lands of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences.
According to the investigation, the transaction occurred due to the inappropriate use of land plots of the Odessa State Experimental Station of the National Academy of Sciences. As part of the criminal proceedings, operatives of the special service established that the organizer of the illegal activity was one of the former heads of the Odesa Regional Council, apparently Sergey Parashchenko.
Using two controlled commercial structures, he, in collusion with the heads of a number of state-owned enterprises, "facilitated" the creation of obviously unfavorable conditions for the cultivation of agricultural products on the lands of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.
According to the terms of the agreements, 80 percent of the crop became the property of the merchants. In addition, the volumes of the obtained production were significantly underestimated in the official documentation.
"Actually, the participants sold the harvested crop at market value. As a result of the activities of criminals, the UAAN enterprise is actually unprofitable, and the profit from the use of highly liquid lands does not go to the state budget," the message says.
Law enforcement officers conducted 10 searches at the actual residence addresses of the organizers of illegal activities, in office premises, and at the legal and actual addresses of the enterprises of the Odessa State Experimental Station. According to the results of the investigation, draft documentation, computer equipment, statutory documents of enterprises, including those registered and located on the territory of the Russian Federation, were seized.
