In Odessa, work continues on the complex reconstruction of Novoshchepny Ryad, located along the famous Pryvoz market. The work is divided into two stages. This was announced by the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, following the on-site workshop.
The mayor emphasized that the repair of Novoshchepny ryad is part of the large-scale project of uninterrupted tram service "North-South".
"We put Starosennaya Square in order, renovated the Transfiguration Park, and continue to work on the modernization of the Odessa Zoo. After major repairs, Novoshchepnoi Street will connect these objects. It will be possible to calmly walk from the railway station in the direction of Preobrazhensky Park. For its part, the "Pryvoz" market is also undergoing reconstruction, providing new shopping areas and removing spontaneous trade from the street," the mayor of Odessa emphasized.
The overhaul project envisages a complete replacement of the roadway with the laying of new underground utilities, a new base of the roadway, and the laying of new tram tracks, which will be laid on a dedicated lane separately from the roadway.
Complex improvement of the adjacent territory will also be carried out.
"Today's work is on schedule, and we plan to finish it even earlier than planned - by the beginning of the 2021 holiday season," Gennady Trukhanov said.
