"Infoksvodokanal" was one of the first in Ukraine to develop and successfully implement a unique software product — a geoinformation system (GIS). This is an electronic map of the city, which shows all water and sewage systems, wells, valves.
During the creation of the GIS, a complete inventory of all objects of the water canal and photo recording was carried out. "Infoksvodokanal" specialists filled the map with many layers with relevant and important information, while creating a full-fledged software product. It has no analogues in Ukraine and contains the necessary data on the location and diameters of pipelines, the depth of their laying, their balancing equipment, stop valves and all other objects of water supply and sewage.
At the same time, the functionality of GIS is constantly expanding. Along with the computer version, a mobile version appeared. Now emergency service personnel, when visiting a repair site, can use a smartphone to quickly access all the necessary information about networks. This allows you to reduce the time it takes to identify the locations, causes, and nature of emergency situations, to prepare the necessary material in advance, and to perform repair work faster. With the help of a smartphone, the masters of the water utility can see the location of the networks of other services and enterprises that pass nearby, which is very important when conducting excavations. In addition, at the place of repair work, all stages are photo-recorded, which allows monitoring the quality and timing of the work.
With the help of GIS, the dispatcher of "Infoksvodokanal" can see online the movement and location of all motor vehicles, special equipment and emergency crews of the water company. For this purpose, the vehicles are equipped with GPS transmitters, which allow the nearest brigade to be directed to the place of damage as quickly as possible.
The introduction of GIS made it possible to calculate the address of consumers who were left without water supply during the shutdown during repair work, and to post this information on the website of "Infoksvodokanal".
And the installation of special sensors allows dispatchers to control the water pressure in the city network, react more quickly to malfunctions, and adjust the water supply system and pumping stations.
This software product is also indispensable for water supply engineers who use the possibility of emergency analysis and calculation forecast. This allows you to determine which of the most emergency sections of pipelines should be renovated first.
