Regional train Odesa-Izmail, which is also called "Bessarabian Express", will be launched before the end of the year. This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional State Administration.
The other day, the chairman of the regional state administration, Sergey Hrynevetskyi, and the director of Odesa Railway, Sergey Nikulin, agreed on this.
The new DPKr-3 diesel train, which was built at the Kryukovo Car Works, will be put on the line. The diesel train will have 170 comfortable seats, the seats are located along the direction of travel. The operational speed of movement is 140 km per hour.
Approximate travel time is 4,5 hours. At the same time, the "diesel" will stop at 8-10 stations. According to the head of Odesa OGA, this will allow residents of the region to move around the region safely and comfortably.
It should be noted that the DPKR-3 regional diesel train has three cars, two of them - the first and third - are equipped with diesel engines, the second car (middle) is engineless.
Первый такой поезд operated on the Kyiv — Boryspil line, then it was transferred to the Smela — Cherkassy route as an express train. In 2021, the second and third examples were built at the Kryukovsk Carriage Works, which are now being run-in. Regional express trains on the "Bessarab" and "Slobozhan" routes are being prepared for launch.
