Kyiv entered the hundred "smart" cities of the world, overtook Rome

In an hour, the Ukrainian capital rose by 16 points and took the 82nd place in the world ranking of the Smart City Index.

Kyiv entered the top 100 smart cities of the world. In an hour, the Ukrainian capital rose by 16 points and took the 82nd place in the world Smart City Index rating, reported the head of the digital transformation (CDT0) of Kyiv, Petr Olenych.

Kyiv overtook Rome, Istanbul and Lisbon in the list. Petr Olenych noted that only three cities had the best positive dynamics per hour — Riyadh (+23 points), Zaragoza (+33 points) and Seoul (+34 points). The leaders of the general rating became Singapore (the capital, Zurich and Oslo.

In the capital, the purchase of public transport tickets, parking services, and e-documents were positively noted. At the same time, traffic jams, air pollution and affordable housing are issues of concern to the people of Kyiv.

The research was conducted by the IMD Center for Global Competitiveness and the Singapore University of Technology and Design. It takes into account economic and technological indicators and surveys of 15 thousand local residents. 

At the same time, Kyiv rose to 13 positions in the ranking of the most expensive cities to live in. The capital took 88th place in the rating, 13 places higher than the previous result.
