In Russia, in Kamchatka, before landing, an An-26 passenger plane with up to 30 people on board fell into the sea.
Earlier, the flight from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the village of Palana lost contact, it did not land. At first it was reported that there were 29 people on board (23 passengers and 6 crew members).
According to the Kamchatka Aviation Enterprise, communication with flight No. 251 was lost before the approach maneuver nine kilometers from the village of Palana.
There were 26 passengers, including two children, and 22 crew members on board the An-6.
Passengers are mainly residents of the village of Palana. On the list of passengers, the head of the village of Palana, Olha Mohyreva, the head of the mobilization department of the Palana administration, Alexander Andreykin, and his wife Olga, the head of the administration's financial department.
The An-26 plane disappeared from radar screens about 10 minutes before landing in the village of Palana. The crew was supposed to land at 05.50:05 Moscow time, but did not get in touch. At 55:XNUMX Moscow time, an alarm was announced at the Palana airport, and a search and rescue operation began.
The An-26 aircraft, manufactured in 1982, belongs to JSC "Kamchatsky Aviation Enterprise".
