In the Poltava region, the FBI officers exposed a police officer and his accomplice who were selling information with limited access, which is stored in the information bases and systems of the National Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

This was reported in the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.

An employee of the Kremenchug OP GU of the National Police in the Poltava region and his civil accomplice are involved in the sale of information with limited access.

According to a preliminary agreement, a friend of the police officer, under the pseudonym "George Bush", posted announcements about the possibility of illegally obtaining information with restricted access without legal basis in the groups of one of the messengers. The law enforcement officer, in turn, using his official position, copied and sold the necessary information.

Thus, the policeman and his accomplice are accused of unauthorized actions with information that is processed in electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer networks or stored on such information carriers, committed by a person who has the right to access it by prior agreement of a group of persons and unauthorized sale or distribution of information with limited access, which is stored in electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer networks, or on carriers of such information, upon prior agreement by a group of persons (Part 3 of Article 362, Part 2 of Article 361-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

"On December 7, 2020, the materials of the criminal proceedings against a civilian with an indictment were sent to the court, and the police were informed of the completion of the pre-trial investigation and the materials of the criminal proceedings were opened for review," the message added.

Sanctions of the articles provide punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 6 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to 3 years.
