One of the highest 70-meter flagpoles in Ukraine, erected for Independence Day in Kherson, fell during installation on a Lexus car parked nearby.
It is reported that no people were injured. Meanwhile, the local media reported that the flagpole fell on the Lexus of the same official who was responsible for its installation and was therefore nearby.
The flagpole was installed on Flag Day and Independence Day on the parade ground of Slava near the regional library named after Honchapa.
The fall was commented on by the deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Eduard Naumenko. According to him, the installation was carried out by the company "Stal Mir", which is engaged in the manufacture of flagpoles. She engaged another company that is engaged in the installation of flagpoles.
During installation, the sling on which the column was held broke off, and it fell.
Naumenko claims that this sling was new, purchased specifically for the installation of this object by the installation company.
According to him, now the problem is being solved, the representatives of the OGA went to the place to explain the reasons for the incident.
He added that the flagpole is not installed with budget funds. For what exactly, he did not specify.
A total of 17 such flagpoles were planned to be erected in Ukraine on the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, including in Odessa.
