The plan of bilateral cooperation between the ministries of defense of Ukraine and Georgia was signed by Andrey Taran and Dzhuansher Burchuladze. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

On May 25, the visit of the Ukrainian delegation led by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrey Taran to Georgia began. On the first day, working meetings of the delegation of the Ministry of Defense were held with the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and the Minister of Defense of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze.

While in Tbilisi, the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry expressed his confidence that this visit will promote the development of bilateral Ukrainian-Georgian defense cooperation.

"Georgia and I are united by common threats and development goals. Our nations share the desire for European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Georgia, like Ukraine, strives to get an Action Plan for NATO membership. We are determined to deepen cooperation to effectively counter regional and global threats," Taran said.

During the bilateral meeting with the Minister of Defense of Georgia, Andrey Taran and Dzhuansher Burchuladze exchanged views on a number of topical issues of mutual interest. In particular, about the security situation in the sovereign Ukrainian and Georgian territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, around the borders of both states. Also, the heads of the defense departments of Ukraine and Georgia drew attention to the state of affairs in the Azov-Black Sea region due to the Russian Federation's regular violations of free and safe navigation in all waters in accordance with international agreements.

Taking into account the regular destructive manifestations and aggression on the part of Russia, Taran and Burchuladze defined the priorities of bilateral defense cooperation in the areas of cyber security, the military-technical sphere, joint participation in international military exercises and the implementation of NATO standards in the daily activities of the national armed forces. The parties exchanged experience in countering the escalation of the aggression of the Russian Federation.

As a result of the bilateral meeting, Taran and Burchuladze signed a plan for bilateral cooperation between the ministries of defense of Ukraine and Georgia for a certain period.
