Today, an extremely remarkable event was supposed to take place in the village of Shumy near Horlovka: representatives of the so-called "DPR" were supposed to inspect the disputed positions of Ukrainian troops. However, the inspection was canceled, after which fire was opened on the positions from the uncontrolled territory. The ElitExpert correspondent understood the situation.
Controversial positions
At the end of August, the head of the DNR, Denys Pushylin, declared that Kyiv was violating the indefinite truce concluded on July 22 at the TCG meeting in Minsk. Pushylin reported that, according to their data, Ukraine is engaged in active engineering equipment of its positions on the contact line in the area of the settlement of Shumy.
Then he issued an ultimatum: he threatened to destroy the positions of the Ukrainian army if Kyiv does not provide an act on the removal of the erected structures by September 3.
True, the conflict was brought to nothing by agreeing on a joint inspection, which was supposed to take place today. Yesterday, September 9, the Office of the President officially confirmed that representatives of the "DPR" will also participate in the event.
How they dispersed "treason"
As soon as it became known, the so-called "war party" criticized President Volodymyr Zelensky. However, the President's Office responded quite harshly.
"Since July 27 of this year, thanks to the effectiveness of Ukrainian representatives at negotiations in various formats, it was possible to achieve a real ceasefire in the Donbass.
It is clear that this cannot be perceived calmly by all subjects who are used to political or financial gain from war. For the sake of resuming hostilities, they resort to provocations, spreading fakes, and they traditionally put public relations above the preservation of people's lives."
In addition, Zelenskyi was reminded that it was Poroshenko, namely his supporters who criticized the current government, who participated in the creation of consultative bodies with the "republics".
Nevertheless, this did not stop the critics: protests were announced, the editor-in-chief of the "Censor" website, Yury Butusov, called on Ukrainian military personnel to disobey the commander-in-chief's orders and kill representatives of the "DNR" and disrupt the truce. And, of course, there were talks about the 3rd Maidan.
Failure of the inspection
Today, the president's office abruptly changed its rhetoric and canceled the inspection. The official reason: new requirements of the "DPR" that appeared this morning. In addition, according to the Office of the President, the "republic" refused to admit Ukrainian representatives to the positions of separatists.
A second version also appeared: representatives of the opposition, who consider themselves opponents of both Ze and Poroshenko, began to accuse Zelensky of having once again followed the lead of the nationalists, afraid of their threats.
Will there be a war?
After the announcement that there would be no inspection, the Headquarters of the OOS issued a statement that the positions where the event was supposed to take place were shelled by the "DNR".
"Today, at 14.15:XNUMX p.m., the Russian occupation forces opened fire from small arms on Ukrainian positions near the settlement of Shumy. The shelling was targeted and aimed at the site where the meeting of the representatives of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the OSCE was supposed to take place.
Such actions of the enemy testify that the enemy deliberately and purposefully goes not only to violate the agreements, but also openly provokes the Ukrainian side. On the other hand, Ukraine once again demonstrates its sincere desire to establish peace, but the enemy deliberately thwarts any requests.
Thanks to the efficiency of Ukrainian scouts, the actions of the armed forces of the Russian Federation were predicted in advance, so it was quickly possible to protect not only the soldiers of the United Forces, but also representatives of the Central Committee of the Russian Federation and the OSCE.
It became obvious that the truce was under threat. Moreover, the incident occurred a day before the meeting of the advisers of the heads of the "Normandy Four" countries. In addition, according to rumors, Zelensky wanted to hold a meeting with Putin before the elections, but now it is not known whether it will be possible.
However, it is obvious that no one is going to go to open war. The president's office reported that today there was a telephone call with President Zelensky and Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel. According to rumors, after the meeting, Merkel will negotiate with Putin so that the conflict does not develop.
