The situation on the border between the European Union and Belarus is worsening: hundreds of migrants are trying to storm the border, throwing stones and sticks at Polish border guards; several soldiers were wounded. The situation at the border is intensifying
This week it became known that several dozen illegal migrants from the Middle East tried to break through the Belarusian-Polish border. According to the Twitter account of the Polish Border Guard, both attacks were repelled, and two Polish soldiers were injured.
"Two soldiers of the Polish Army are hospitalized. One of them was wounded by foreigners with a stone, the other with a branch. Nothing threatens their lives, they have already been discharged. Also, some border guards received minor injuries, but they did not have to be hospitalized. Migrants behaved very aggressively," said representative of the border guard Anna Myshalska.
Polish border guards did not specify the number of injured migrants, but it was reported that 19 people were detained during the attempted assault, mostly Syrian citizens.
A video posted on Twitter by the border service shows a crowd of illegal immigrants throwing stones at Polish border guards and trying to break down the border fence.
In connection with the increase in the number of illegal immigrants, the Polish authorities will attract about 2,5 thousand more soldiers to protect the border with Belarus, increasing their number to ten thousand, said the Minister of Defense of Poland, Mariusz Blaszczak, accompanying his post with a video recording of the border guards.
