Zelensky canceled fines for violating the order of entry and exit from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada adopted this law on June 29

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed the law on the temporary abolition of fines for violation of the order of entry and exit from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on June 29. This is reported on the official website of the head of state.

This law stipulates that measures of administrative impact for administrative offenses related to violations of the entry-exit order will not be applied to citizens of Ukraine who live in the temporarily occupied territories during the period of quarantine or when the activity of entry-exit control points is blocked, if such Violations were committed due to humanitarian circumstances determined by the Cabinet of Ministers.

In particular, we are talking about:

  • return to the place of residence of citizens of Ukraine and members of their families;
  • family reunification; serious illness, death of close relatives;
  • the necessity of providing medicines and medical devices or undergoing treatment in the presence of severe and/or chronic diseases;
  • the departure from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine of a person who has documents confirming the right to permanent or temporary residence in another state;
  • crossing the entry-exit checkpoint by a child under the age of 16, accompanied by one of the parents (adoptive parents) or other legal representatives for the child to issue documents certifying identity and confirming Ukrainian citizenship;
  • the necessity of accepting an inheritance.

The law comes into force on the day following the day of its publication.

Let us remind you that until now, for violation of the order of entry and exit from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, the punishment was in the form of a fine in the amount of one hundred to three hundred tax-free minimum incomes of citizens (from UAH 1,7 thousand to UAH 5,1 thousand). . For the same actions, committed by a group of persons or a person who was subject to administrative penalty during the year, a fine in the amount of three hundred to five hundred tax-free minimum incomes of citizens (from UAH 5,1 thousand to UAH 8,5 thousand) was assumed. .
