Association of Judges of Economic Courts of Ukraine, Association of Development of Judicial Self-Government of Ukraine, All-Ukrainian Association of Administrative Judges, Association of Lawyers of Ukraine, Association of Lawyers of Ukraine, All-Ukrainian Association of Retired Judges and All-Ukrainian Association of Women Judges appealed to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
Their appeal refers to the inadmissibility of violations of the constitutional guarantees of the independence of judges and the provision of the constitutional principle of the independence of justice as a guarantee for the realization of the right to judicial protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens.
Acting judges, retired judges and lawyers of Ukraine believe that the introduction by law enforcement agencies of the summary in the ERDR with the preliminary legal qualification "Abuse of power or official position" regarding the judges of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court is a violation of the constitutional guarantees of judicial independence and a form of pressure on all judges of Ukraine. Such a step demonstrates the possible persecution of judges in the event that they make court decisions that the authorities do not like.
