Acting Minister of Energy Yury Vytrenko said that the Ukrainian government is working to ensure that gas prices for the population do not exceed UAH 6,99/cubic meter. m by the end of this year.
Vytrenko stated this during the "Ukraine30" forum on Tuesday, February 16.
"Based on the situation of the European market, it is possible to expect that prices will rise, but the government will not allow this. The government is now working on a sustainable solution that will make it possible to ensure that even by the end of this year, people will not pay more than UAH 6,99/cubic meter for gas. m", said the acting the minister
Precisely for this purpose, in order to prevent travel, the Ukrainian government intends to ensure free access to the gas of its own production on the market in the form of a daily product with its subsequent sale by distributors to the population.
"Suppliers must compete with a lower price. We will not even establish any administrative restrictions, we simply want to make such a market structure, such a design of the markets, to fight abuses in such a way as to make it so that there will be different prices in a market way, at the same time they will not be higher than 6,99 UAH/cubic m", Vytrenko believes
