During the population census in 2023, citizens will answer more than 50 questions. The corresponding program was approved on Wednesday, December 8, at a joint meeting of the presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the board of the State Statistics Service, the press service of Gosstat reports.
"The program is coordinated with the requirements of the national legislation, contains more than 50 questions and determines the list of demographic and socio-economic characteristics of individuals, households and housing conditions of the population," the message says.
In particular, the main blocks of questions on which information will be collected are:
- basic demographic characteristics (age, gender, place of birth, etc.);
- ethnic origin, language characteristics and citizenship;
- education;
- sources of livelihood;
- employment;
- migration activity;
- determination of disability status;
- housing conditions.
According to the department, receiving answers to the questions will allow to characterize the living conditions of each person and his role in the household, family and society as a whole, as well as to conduct international comparisons.
Earlier it became known that Ukraine will conduct a population census together with Apple.
Last week, the dates of the population census were also announced. This will happen at the beginning of 2023, said President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking in the parliament with his annual message on December 1.
"I am proud that Ukraine will become the second country in the world after the United States to conduct a population census in cooperation with Apple in February 2023," he said.
