Poroshenko has a black streak: Roshen was fined UAH 283 million

The fine was imposed for abuse of a monopoly position.

The Antimonopoly Committee fined a group of companies related to Roshen Europe BV for a total of 283,63 million hryvnias. This is reported press office AMCU

A fine was imposed for abuse of a monopoly position. It was established that these companies unreasonably increased the prices of molasses and syrups during 2018-2020, while being the only producers of these products in the territory of Ukraine.

"A fine was imposed for two violations of the legislation on the protection of economic competition in the form of abuse of a monopoly position on the national market for the primary sale of corn starch molasses and glucose syrups," the message says.

The only competitors of the ROSHEN group of companies during 2018-2020 were importers "with relatively small shares".

The corporation claims political persecution.

It should be noted that the Roshen corporation is one of the largest manufacturers of confectionery products in Ukraine. The total production volume of confectionery products in the corporation is 450 thousand tons per hour.
