Kharkiv residents line up at the entrance to the Annunciation Cathedral from the very morning. The coffin with the body of Kharkiv mayor Gennady Kernes was brought to the cathedral on Tuesday evening, where his funeral service began today, Wednesday, December 23, at 07:00.
A large screen was installed near the cathedral, on which Kernes' funeral will be broadcast. The burial of Gennady Kernes is planned at the 2nd cemetery at 13:30 p.m.
The civil memorial service will be held in the Opera House from 9:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m.
People enter the temple one by one and bring burgundy roses. All entrances to the temple are blocked. Police patrols everywhere.
Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klychko, former People's Deputy Yevgeny Muraev, former Mayor of Kharkiv Mykhailo Dobkin, People's Deputy Vadym Novinsky have already arrived at the ceremony.
It is known that there will be no state leaders.
