Events on the border of the European Union and Belarus are one of the manifestations of a hybrid war, and the Security Service is taking the entire set of measures in order to exclude a similar scenario in Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Ivan Bakanov, after the conclusion of the interdepartmental meeting on the protection of the state border held in Lutsk.
"Such a scenario is still unlikely. But we work ahead of the curve and do everything to ensure that this, even theoretical version of the development of events is not implemented in practice. Therefore, today we gathered in Lutsk - to agree on measures to counteract this manifestation of hybrid warfare. We don't just keep the situation under control, we perform all the necessary organizational and operational work," Bakanov emphasized.
He said that the SBU actively applies a complex of counter-intelligence, operative-search and criminal-procedural measures within the limits of its powers.
The SBU also exchanges information with the National Police and the State Border Service, joint mobile groups are created to work in border areas, etc.
Bakanov is convinced that Ukraine will be able to successfully resist the next manifestation of hybrid warfare and maintain stability and security.
