From January 1, 2021, "Ukrpochta" may stop delivering pensions. This will happen if the Cabinet today, December 23, does not resolve the issue of state payment of this service.
Igor Smelyanskyi, the general director of the joint-stock company "Ukrposhta", announced this on his Facebook page.
"Today, the Cabinet of Ministers must consider the issue of payment of pensions by the state for 3,6 million pensioners. After the review of the minimum wage, Ukrposhta will pay 500 million hryvnias more than in 2020, not counting the costs of salary increases, only in part of the single social contribution. Therefore, if the issue is not resolved positively, "Ukrpochta" will be forced to stop delivering pensions from January 1. "Ukrpochta" is not a charity fund and cannot subsidize newspapers, letters and pensions," said Smelyansky.
Also, if the Cabinet of Ministers does not make the specified decision, the cooperation of "Ukrpochta" with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank in terms of raising 100 million euros for the implementation of the company's projects will be canceled due to the profitability of the postal operator.
