The head of the Russian State Duma Committee on the CIS, Leonid Kalashnikov, made a statement regarding the borders of the Russian Federation that recognize "L/DPR".
He stated that "LPR" and "DNR" will be recognized within the borders of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
The concept changed overnight. Even yesterday in Moscow they assured that the recognition will be within the current actual borders.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation on International Affairs Andrey Klymov noted that "L/DNR" will be recognized within the borders that are actually established now. That is, they were not going to apply for the entire Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"The agreement does not clarify the borders. I don't know who launched this duck that we will recognize the "DPR and LPR" within the borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The agreement talks about specific things in the field of friendship, cooperation, security and mutual assistance. All the rest are questions not for Russia at all, but, of course, for the DPR and LPR.
