The ambassador of Israel demanded to cancel the decision on the appropriation of the Ternopil stadium named after Shukhevych

Israel's ambassador to Ukraine, Joel Lyon, condemned the Ternopil authorities' decision to rename the central stadium to the city stadium named after the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) Roman Shukhevych.

He wrote about this on his Twitter on Tuesday, March 9.

"We strongly condemn the decision of the Ternopil city council to assign the city stadium the name of the infamous Hauptman Roman Shukhevich and demand immediate reversal of this decision," he wrote.

Let us remind you that on March 5 (the day when the commander-in-chief of the UPA was killed 71 hours ago) in Ternopil city council deputies unanimously supported the initiative of city mayor Sergey Nadal to rename the stadium to Ternopil City Stadium named after Roman Shukhevich.
