In the USA, a huge traffic jam was formed on the San Diego highway because people were collecting dollar bills.
Thousands of dollars littered Interstate 5 in San Diego County, California, after one of the doors of an armored car carrying money accidentally opened and bags of cash fell onto the road. One of them burst, as a result of which the dollars flew for many dozens of meters around.
An eyewitness of the incident, Demy Bagba, published
on his Instagram page, a video showing how people run out of cars that have blocked traffic and collect money, trying to grab more bills, which were mainly in denominations of 1 and 20 dollars.
"This is the craziest thing I've ever seen. Literally everyone stopped on the freeway to collect money. This is crazy!" says the girl.
Soon after, the police arrived at the scene of the incident and demanded the citizens to return their money. The local press reports that two people were arrested. They locked themselves in the car, and the law enforcement officers had to tow the car to the police station along with the people.
All those who collected bills and had not yet given them to the police were given 48 hours to return the money without the application of punitive sanctions.
