A round table dedicated to the results of the unique project for the country - the National ranking of influence "Elite of Ukraine" took place in Odessa on October 9.
The experts discussed rather unexpected results of the largest study of the influence of the elite in our country.
As Elena Ovchynnikova, head of the Organizing Committee of the National Influence Rating "Elite of Ukraine" and head of the International Expert Club, told: "It so happened that the concept of "elite" in our society is often not perceived very positively. At the same time, a lot is said about the shortage of personnel in the country, about the fact that we do not like our politicians, and a team of two hundred experts took on the mission of choosing not only influential people who hold power, but also those who can be safely called the pride of the nation - famous sportsmen, teachers, doctors, artists".
"A huge amount of work was done, in which a lot of physical and moral strength was invested. Using sports terminology, it is possible to say that this is the "first approach to the projectile", - noted Elena Knyazeva, the head of the research and sociological center "Pulse". — Despite the difficulties that objectively arose during the work, the project turned out to be successful. Now we have new projects and work ahead of us at the International Expert Club. This is the perspective that can unite people from all over the country.
At the same time, not all of the experts were satisfied with the final results of the rating. In particular, the economist Eduard Karazhiya.
"The research criteria were unusual, one might say unique - such an approach inspired and set me up for work. For the first time, such criteria as humanity, patriotism, intelligence and many others were included. And it bore fruit. For example, in the end, for the first time, there are no security ministers in the hundred most influential, except for Avakov, and he is not in the first place. There are also no judges, except for one person, and that is a local court.
On the other hand, I was unpleasantly struck by the fact that many oligarchs, who in the public mind are not burdened with high moral qualities, made it to the top half of the list.
At the same time, Doctor of Economics, Professor of Mechnikov National University Sergei Yakubovsky drew the attention of those present, that despite the subjective opinions of each of the experts, the results of the study showed an accurate slice of public opinion.
"In my opinion, there are a lot of positives. We saw what the population of Ukraine and experts consider to be the elite. This is objective. Yes, in my opinion, some people from the list are also not worthy to be considered the best - it is difficult for me to imagine Akhmetov and Kolomoisky as moral authorities of the nation - but the result is the result. But I really liked Dr. Komarovsky's third place, I liked that many Odessa businessmen and patrons took high places in the hundred. These are examples of how business can be moral."
Alexander Ryabets supported his colleague:
"I agree that here we saw the real opinion of society. It is necessary to reckon with him and try to change him for the better. In addition, as it turned out, the criterion of fame and publicity became very important. There are many humane, patriotic, good people who do not work with the mass media, so they are not known in society.
I was also pleasantly surprised that representatives of the power bloc and law enforcement agencies were not included in the list. 6-7 years ago they would have been very high. But our society has experienced many shocks, a number of revolutions - all this has changed the sphere of thinking. Unfortunately. there are oligarchs on the list - but as it turned out, they really influence society and there is nothing to be done about it."
Elena Ovchinnikova summarized the results of the round table:
"Our rating can be safely called a diagnosis of Ukrainian society. And the performed diagnosis already allows treatment. The results will be second only when we, Ukrainians, change, when we are responsible for the choice we make.
This is a section of society that reflects reality, and our task, starting from this point, from what we have in Ukraine, is to try to create a new national elite."
