On May 17, the National Bank of Ukraine introduced a gold commemorative coin "1 hryvnia" into circulation. This is reported on the website of the National Bank.
The coin reproduces the design of the circulating coin "Vladimir the Great" with a face value of 1 hryvnia of the 2004 model, dedicated to the outstanding statesman and politician, the creator of the medieval European state of Russia-Ukraine - Prince of Kyiv Vladimir the Great. At the same time, the coin has certain differences from the circulating coin "Vladimir the Great". It is made of 999,9 gold, minting quality category - "uncirculated", pure precious metal weight - 15,55 g, diameter - 25,0 mm, coin band - smooth. This gold commemorative coin was minted in 2010 in a mintage of 500 pieces.
Given the likelihood of increased demand for the above-mentioned coin, the National Bank plans to start its sale at electronic auctions. This will allow to satisfy the demand of clients, including banks, numismatists and their associates, other legal entities and individuals on a transparent and competitive basis. The first electronic auction for the sale of the commemorative coin of Ukraine "1 hryvnia" will be held on the day of its introduction into circulation - May 17. It is planned to be held at the Universal Commodity Exchange "Kontraktovy dom UMVB" in the system of electronic trading with the possibility of remote access. 50 pieces will be offered for auction. coins (50 lots - one coin in a case in each lot). Terms of participation in the auction will be posted on the official website of the exchange.
