The Ministry of Defense has developed a new dry ration for servicemen

With improved composition and expanded diet

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine presented an extended line of improved dry rations of a new model based on the so-called 10th norm. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense.

The new ration is designed for a single meal and contains a number of advantages compared to the old version. Among them is the expansion to 24 rations, instead of the rather monotonous dishes from the previous dry ration, an increase in the content of meat, as well as modern retort packages, which, according to servicemen, are more convenient than tin cans.

Thus, the Ministry of Defense presented two out of 24 rations, which include 100 grams of canned meat, 60 grams of pate, 280 grams of dishes (for example, buckwheat with vegetables and pork), biscuit, honey, coffee and tea.

At the moment, there are two types of dry daily rations in the Armed Forces - the 15th norm, introduced in 2016, and the outdated 10th norm. Therefore, the introduction of dry rations for a single meal is on the agenda.

The Ministry of Defense noted that dry rations remain an exclusively auxiliary form of nutrition for the personnel of the Armed Forces. The main food needs of the Armed Forces are provided by "hot food" - that is, full hot food with breakfast, lunch and dinner, first and second courses, desserts, fruit and the like. Such a form of supply is a priority both at the point of permanent deployment of units (that is, in the rear) and at forward positions in the area of the OOS.
