The DEGAS GROUP company, which has dozens of successful projects under its belt, was founded by Yury Vyacheslavovich Degas. At the age of 34, behind his shoulders is a large company with multi-million investments, the authority and trust of many people.
The future businessman and philanthropist was born on January 1, 1987 in Nikolaev. Until the ninth grade, he studied at secondary school No. 9, then continued his studies at the "Jewish School".
Yuri Degas has two higher educations. He received his first diploma, majoring in "Finance and Credit", at the Mykolaiv Interregional Institute of Human Development of the University of "Ukraine". Yury already received his secondary education in Odessa, where he moved to a permanent place of residence in 2008. He entered the Odessa National Maritime University, in 2012 he became a lawyer and specialist in law. A few years later, in 2016, together with his partners, Yury Degas founded the DEGAS GROUP company. Initially, the company was engaged in microcredit and project management, but thanks to constant development and growth, its activities have expanded significantly. At the moment, this is the development of residential complexes, investment, as well as the restaurant business and the entertainment sector.
Among the most well-known projects to Odessa residents is the residential complex "Novaya Evropa" on ul. Paustovskogo, residential complex "Magnit" at the 13th station of Bolshoi Fontana, the chain of restaurants "Benedikt" and the beach complex "Caleton", repeatedly awarded the "Blue Flag".
However, in addition to business projects, Yuriy Degas actively participates in the development of the public and social life of Odessa, sparing no expense. Including charity actions, socially significant events and projects. The businessman helps people with disabilities and low-income families, provides greater support to young athletes, and popularizes a healthy lifestyle and sports by personal example.
In 2019, for his public activity, Yuriy was awarded the prestigious "People's Recognition" award in the "Odessite of the Year" nomination.
According to his firm conviction, in the current difficult conditions for the country, every businessman should think not only about his business and profit, but also about social responsibility towards others. In addition, the ego credo is the principle of equal opportunities for all people.
That is why in 2020, on the initiative of Yuriy Degas, the construction of a unique for Ukraine beach rehabilitation complex for people with disabilities began. It will be created in the "Delfina" area, next to the Caleton beach - and will be completely free for vacationers.
As the founder of the company admitted, he wanted to make a gift to his beloved city and create such a beach complex for people with disabilities, which would have no analogues in Ukraine and Europe. At the same time, all construction is carried out exclusively at the expense of the company - not a penny will be spent from the city budget.
"I decided to make a big and very important project for the city - so that it would not be a shame to look people in the eye. I dream that this place will become a symbol and pride of Odessa. I believe that this is the only way it should be in a socially responsible business, and it's right," the founder of the Degas Group company is confident.
Confirmation of the businessman's personal qualities is his firm belief that despite force majeure and possible problems, people should not suffer. This vital principle of Yuri Degas was felt by the investors of the "frozen" residential complexes that the company was building. Two thousand residents of Odessa received the long-awaited keys to their apartments, without paying anything more than the amount they paid to the previous developer. And during several lockdowns, when public catering outlets were closed en masse across Ukraine, not a single employee of the Benedict restaurant chain was injured. The entire workforce was retained, and they all received salaries.
