Iran published a report on the investigation into the crash of the Ukrainian liner

The Civil Aviation Organization of Iran published the final technical report on the crash of the UIA passenger liner

The Civil Aviation Organization of Iran published the final technical report on the crash of the UIA passenger liner on the night of January 8, 2020 near Tehran. Iran said that the plane was hit by an anti-aircraft missile due to human error.

It is reported Tasnim News Agency.

The message was transmitted via video conference to officials of other countries whose citizens were on board the plane and died as a result of the disaster. The webinar participants also held a series of presentations of the technical report.

As a reminder, the UIA Boeing 737 en route to Kyiv crashed shortly after takeoff from Tehran on January 8, killing all 176 people on board, most of them citizens of Iran and Canada. Among the 11 dead Ukrainians, two were passengers.

The plane was shot down by an Iranian missile — in January, Tehran launched missile strikes on US military bases in Iraq and expected a retaliatory strike.
