In 2021, Ukrainians made 14,7 million foreign tourist trips. About it on his page in the social network Facebook said Maryana Oleskyv, chairperson of the State Tourism Development Agency of Ukraine.
"Thanks to the pandemic, Ukrainians have expanded domestic tourism and increased the number of trips to Ukraine. And, of course, they went abroad. As many as 14,7 million times. In general, 18% of citizens traveled to different countries of the world at least once a year," she wrote.
According to her, almost every fourth Ukrainian at the age of 34 made a trip abroad. Older people - after 65 years - were not so active, so only 7% of citizens from this age category traveled to distant shores.
"The majority of Ukrainians (56%) trusted to organize their trips to professionals - tour operators and travel agencies. At the same time, 44% of our compatriots planned their trips independently. Most often during 2021, Ukrainians traveled to European countries - 42%, Turkey - 28% and Egypt - 21%," she clarified.
According to her, Poland was visited by 4,5 million Ukrainians, Turkey by 2 million, Hungary by 1,72 million, and Egypt by 1,46 million. However, Ukrainians did not go to Poland and Hungary to rest, but to earn money.Where did Ukrainian tourists travel in 2021 / photo facebook.com/m.oleskiv
