Two new AIRBUS H125 helicopters, which are delivered under an agreement between the government of Ukraine and France, have arrived in Kyiv. This was reported to the State Border Service of Ukraine.
Helicopters have modern powerful equipment for detection and suppression of offenders at the state border. Among other things, they are equipped with an optical-electronic surveillance system that allows monitoring, including in the infrared mode. At the same time, a thermal imaging camera allows you to detect a vehicle at a distance of up to 20 kilometers.
The equipment makes it possible not only to record video in good quality, but also to transmit it in real time with the help of a satellite. Also, the helicopters are equipped with an announcement system with loudspeakers and specialized aviation searchlights, which can be used synchronously with the optical-electronic surveillance system.
Let us remind you that the first helicopters under the Ukrainian-French contract were adopted by the border agency of Ukraine in January 2020. At the beginning of operation, the border guards used these machines for the training of flight and engineering personnel. At first, the representatives of the manufacturing plant conducted the training. Currently, the Border Service of Ukraine has its own certified specialists, including instructors.
This year, crews of H125 helicopters completed a mountain training course. New helicopters were actively used during border operations "Karpaty-2021" and "Granitsa-2021". To date, border guards have flown these helicopters for about 900 hours. Application in the protection of the state border of Ukraine showed the economy and efficiency of these machines.
It should be noted that seven graduates of the Kharkiv Air Force University named after Ivan Kozhedub recently arrived in the State Border Service of Ukraine for the first time in 16 years. The vast majority of young specialists are helicopter pilots who will pilot the new H125.
