The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that the cases of the use of force against men of conscription age by military commissars are wrong. That's what he's about informed in an interview with the German TV channel ARD.
The journalist noticed that a lot of videos appeared on the network, which recorded moments of men being detained by the military just on the streets. In her question, she asked what is the price of personal freedom in the conditions of martial law in the country.
"Yes, there are such cases. It is very wrong when representatives of the Military Committees walked the streets and looked for boys who did not come to the TCC. But here I would like us to be fair and honest. It's absolutely wrong, they shouldn't be doing that." Zelensky answered.
He stated that he had already made a request to the military and deputies to make changes to the new draft law on mobilization in Ukraine in order to make "the chances of the TCC walking the streets" impossible.
"Today there are opportunities to use the digital format, we live in the time of digitization. Moreover, we have established this process both during the pandemic and during the war. Therefore, there is no problem to solve this issue today." - added the president.
In addition, the President of Ukraine stated that the army of our country can be called one million strong. He clarified that the actual strength of the Armed Forces is 880.
"... We have 880 thousand. We have a million-strong army. And at the same time, we have 30 million people working, and maybe even a little more. I can't say the exact number," — Zelensky noted.
At the same time, the president emphasized that the exact number of people who have left the country since the beginning of the full-scale war remains unknown at the moment. Stating that this number is between 6,5 and 7,5 million.
"That's why we are talking about all the people who are in Ukraine. And they all protect Europe and the world. Absolutely. At their workplaces," — added Zelensky.
