On Wednesday, December 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi delivered a traditional annual address in the parliament. The speech of the head of state lasted almost an hour.
Together with him in the Verkhovna Rada were the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny.
The main goal of Ukraine is to restore territorial integrity, free all Ukrainians from captivity and rebuild the state.
Briefly, what the head of state talked about:
— Ukraine has become one of the leaders of the free world. For many, it is a matter of pride to have friends among Ukrainians.
— We helped the West to find itself again and to feel how much the West prevails. No one there is afraid of the Russian Federation. It was Ukraine that united the EU.
— Ukraine is on its way to victory, which all our generations dreamed of. We will have everything that was not achieved before. Now there is national unity, a functioning state, and the support of the world.
— The goal is to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine and release all those who are currently in captivity.
— Millions of our people abroad should not become refugees. We have to bring them home.
— A modern veteran policy and rehabilitation policy should be created.
— The Ukrainian military-industrial complex will be one of the most progressive.
— New security guarantees, reform of modern international organizations are needed.
— We will increase the number of Starlink terminals to more than 30 at peak times.
— We will complete the total digitization of all public services.
— We will develop relations with the countries of Africa and the South for the sake of food security.
— We will become a leader in the construction of "green energy". Ukraine will develop its own nuclear generation.
- We will get through this winter, the Russian "step" strikes will not give them results.
— More than 1,2 trillion hryvnias are allocated to defense for the year. We must remember that this money is only due to domestic taxes and duties, and international aid goes to humanitarian purposes.
— There should be an international tribunal for the war crimes of the occupiers.
He thanked the Netherlands for its leadership in this matter.
— Reconstruction will be the largest economic project in Europe. The entire territory of our country needs reconstruction. In the same way, we will restore "normality of life" in the territory of Donbas and Crimea.
After the speech, there was also an award ceremony for the military.
